Huck's Life

I wouldn't be able to survive on an island like Huck is. He can find anything and turn it into something useful. I wish I could do that on an island all by myself. I also love the way him and Jim have that relationship where they can play jokes on each other but still want to protect each other within fifth-teen minutes of the prank. It's like they've lived together for years and years, like brothers.

Huck and Jim have an understanding that they both are out on the island to survive. They protect each other so that the other won't have to survive alone.

Huck's runaway life would be fun for a while, but eventually i don't think anybody could survive like that forever without anybody. The fact that Huck and Jim are together makes it a lot better for the both of them. I have not read the book but i have a feeling something will happen to Jim and Huck will be very upset and lonely

Huck may have been pranking Jim just for fun , but because he didn't think very rationally before he could have lost the only person that was there for him. If Jim wouldn't have known what to do to take care of the wound I'm sure Huck would have felt a lot worse.

I agree completely, the skill of turning inanimate objects into useful objects is a valuable skill. I am, however, not impressed. In this time period that is what they had to do to survive, it's not like today where technology does everything for you, believe it or not you actually had to do something to survive, nothing was handed to them.

I was impressed. Even with the technology, I would not be able to survive on an island by myself, or even with a friend. The fact that he can survive by himself is very impressive to me.
