Irony
I think it is very ironic that Huck and Jim meet up on the island. First off, Huck is so intent on being my himself and alone, and than shortly after admits that he is kind of lonely. He knew Jim before hand and it is kind of ironic that they are both in harmful situations, Jim is about to be sold to another slave owner, and Huck is always beaten and abused by his father. So it is kind of ironic and a good thing that they happen to meet on the island and begin a new adventure together. It is also weird how Huck and Jim had some good amount of money yet they chose to abandon everything and ditch society when they could have lived a comfortable life with Huck's money. They could have bought a pretty sweet raft.

I agree with you. It's definitely ironic. I think that Huck and Jim are good together, and I think it's good that they found each other so they can help each other survive. I can't wait to see what kind of adventure that they will have.
I agree that if it good Jim and Huck found each other because they would both probably be struggling to survive right about now. It also probably good that they were together when they found the dead body...it would be 10 times more scary if either of them were alone.
I think that's an interesting observation that both Huck and Jim were beaten. They are very similar. I think it's cool how Twain proved how even though they had different colored skin, they were almost the same person.
Huck and Jim both were struggling in life and when they found each other it was a perfect match. I like how even though Jim is black and Huck is white they still work together and see each other as equal human beans. The duo works well together and I known they will survive and have great adventures with each other. I cant wait to see what happens next in the novel.
