I do not agree. The book would not be as interesting without the dialect. It really portrays Twain's style. Twain's style is why he is so famous.
I agree that it is very hard to read, especially Jim's. But Woody is correct, the book would not be the same without it. It shows the education in the characters, and to me, that's better than all dialect being the same.
I do not agree with this. Even though this novel may be difficult to understand at times, it really is how these people would talk given the area and time that this book takes place in. I enjoy how this book is written and love the fact that it uses this sort of southern dialect, even if it is difficult to read and not all grammatically correct. This is just one of Twain's styles.
I disagree too because the dialect is written in a good way for the time that it was written. and I do know that its hard to read now because we are not use to reading the dialect of that time period compared to now.
