Huck and the Future Chapters

In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Huck is very independent. This makes for quite a comical character because he is only a twelve year old. He already smokes a pipe and his language only makes it better. Despite being superstitious, Huck takes things literally. During the boys meeting Huck believes they are really going to be robbers that kill and steal from stage coaches, but he quickly learns different. I couldn't tell if he was relieved or if he was bored with the idea of playing pretend. Mark Twain makes it obvious that Huck has never been a real imaginative boy like Tom. Huck is just now getting introduced to literature and creativity making, whereas Tom probably has been around books and stories his whole life. Another thing I noted while reading was when Pap kidnapped Huck, despite the whippings he got, Huck was nice to his father when he wasn't being beaten. It just a normal thing for him. In the next chapters I'm curious to see when Huck escapes and if Pap will catch him in the act. I also am curious to see if Huck goes back to the widows house or if he will try to live off the land by himself.
