Am I jealous of Huck?
Would I be happy if I were to be put into a situation similar to Huck's? It's an interesting question because Huck does not have to deal with any of life's annoying nuances, such as school for eight hours a day or the trouble of other people bothering him. It is really tempting to be Huck if you love being independent, free to do whatever you want all day, and don't mind a little dirt. He finds his own food, doesn't need a house, and can do basically whatever he wants with his friends. On the other hand, Huck's father is clearly someone who needs to work on fathering skills. His beatings of Huck make him an abusive father that no one would envy. Huck's father is basically the bane of Huck's life. However, due to Huck's love of the outdoors, his life is very manageable. One day, Huck hopes to run away from his father and live outdoors for the rest of his life. Personally, I love the outdoors, but I would die if I had to sleep in weather that was below room temperature every night. I envy Huck's independent nature, but I couldn't stand to be outside if it ever gets to be freezing.

You also have to think, we live in a world where money controls everything. Without the education and poop that we are required to get, we wouldn't be able to get jobs, and if you end up having a family out in the woods, it will be difficult to take care of the children, and we would all end up like Pap.
I agree with both your post, and the previous comment. I am honestly a little jealous of Huck, because he does get the privilege of adventure, and he seems to get along just fine the way he lives. Though in the world we live in today, living the same as him would be considered nonsense.
